Kathryn Thomson

Kathryn Thomson is the Head of Education and Professional Development at the Chartered Institute of Brewers and Distillers, responsible for developing a CPD pathway and routes to chartership.  She is an ex teacher, trainer, and teacher trainer at primary and secondary schools globally including Paris, Rekjavik, Australia and Borneo.  For the last 20 years she has worked in membership bodies and higher education, particularly in the areas of apprenticeships, training, CPD and chartership. She combines business acumen with creating high quality education products that provide member value.  Kathryn has always been a mentor for junior colleagues, has set up many mentoring schemes, and is passionate about lifelong learning for all.  She regularly learns new languages and keeps uptodate with the latest technologies. In every membership body she has always worked on upgrading and integrating CRMs, websites and learning platforms. She has a strong interest in EDI and volunteers at Queer Britain museum in her spare time.
