Effective communication is key to building strong, engaged communities. The Best Communication & Social Media Presence category celebrates organisations that have delivered clear, engaging, and innovative communications to strengthen connections with members and audiences.
This year’s shortlisted organisations exemplify creative approaches to connecting and engaging:
College of Sexual and Reproductive Healthcare
CoSRH’s social media strategy amplifies its purpose to enable its members and wider workforce to deliver high-quality sexual and reproductive healthcare (SRH) for all. Engaging doctors, nurses, pharmacists, and other clinicians working across different care settings through multi-channel content, the campaign combines storytelling, advocacy, and member-focused updates. Platforms including Instagram, Facebook and LinkedIn have seen growth in both reach and engagement, while targeted campaigns raise awareness of key initiatives and encourage active participation.
By connecting members, promoting professional development, and influencing public and policy conversations, CoSRH strengthens the voice of their members and the wider SRH community and demonstrates measurable impact across channels.
Marine Conservation Society – Entered by Wonderly
The Marine Conservation Society’s digital magazine, Your Ocean, transforms member engagement by combining immersive storytelling, expert insight, and interactive content. Published three times a year, it connects diverse audiences—from young eco-conscious members to older nature enthusiasts—through video, photography, infographics, and member-generated contributions. QR codes, e-newsletters, and social media campaigns drive traffic, boost digital membership uptake, and encourage advocacy.
Featuring contributions from Ocean Ambassadors, scientists, and members themselves, the magazine deepens engagement, increases retention, and expands reach while supporting MCS’s mission to protect the ocean.
Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors – Entered by Sunday
RICS’ publication Modus reconnects with members through a coordinated print and digital strategy informed by member feedback. By prioritising quality content, the campaign increased engagement across email, social media, and the website, with notable growth in interactions, open rates, and unique visitors.
The relaunch of print complements the digital offering, providing tangible value while maintaining efficiency. Strategic content planning, targeted distribution, and search optimisation ensure lasting impact, reinforcing RICS’ authority in the built environment and delivering measurable benefits to its global membership.
Society of Radiographers – Entered by Wonderly
The SoR’s Synergy News Weekly newsletter, launched in August 2024, consolidates multiple member communications into a single, concise, and timely weekly update. Delivered to 30,000 members every Friday at 8am, it provides curated news, features, job listings, and organisational updates tailored to busy radiography professionals. Since launch, it has achieved a 45% open rate and drives over 1,000 weekly clicks to SoR platforms.
Designed with modular flexibility and low ongoing costs, the newsletter strengthens engagement, promotes member benefits, drives platform traffic, and generates revenue through advertising, offering a high-impact, cost-effective communication channel.
Thoroughbred Breeders’ Association – Entered by CPL One
The TBA’s GBBPLUS social media campaign, launched in summer 2024, extended the successful Great British Bonus scheme to promote middle-distance fillies and steeplechase mares. CPL One used X and Instagram to engage breeders, trainers, and owners with real-time updates, striking visuals, and people-driven stories.
With a refined visual identity, the campaign built awareness, engagement, and community loyalty. Metrics include a 14% increase in X followers, 3.3% growth on Instagram, engagement rates above platform norms, and over 25,000 impressions per post. Early outcomes show increased registrations and higher participation, demonstrating sustained value for the community.
A huge thank you to the judging panel for reviewing an outstanding pool of submissions. These organisations illustrate how strategic communications and social media can build connected, engaged, and resilient communities.

The Memcom Excellence Awards Ceremony will take place on Thursday 25 September at the Royal Lancaster London.
