Zeinab Badawi, who will be presenting the memcom excellence awards, has held many notable positions in her career. She was the first presenter for ITV Morning News and co-presented Channel 4 News with Jon Snow for 9 years before moving to the BBC. Zeinab originally joined BBC World News after reporting and presenting UK-based political programmes from the BBC’s Westminster studios but is now best known for her current work on BBC’s HARDtalk, Reporters and Global Questions on BBC World News. Working internationally over many years, Zeinab has reported from Europe, Asia, the Middle East and Africa, where she covered the famine in the mid-1980s. More recently, Zeinab delved into Africa’s past for The History of Africa, a nine-part series on BBC World News. She is currently working on the second series.
Zeinab has also worked in radio, regularly presenting The World Tonight on BBC Radio 4 and Newshour on BBC World Service radio.
Zeinab Badawi is also a trustee of BBC Media Action, and has kindly waived her appearance fee, to allow memcom to make a donation to BBC Media Action in support their work.
