Ingrid Farmer joined the Institution of Civil Engineers as International Relations and Planning Manager in March 2017. She deputises for the International Director and is responsible for implementing the International Strategy and coordinating multi region and multi team projects, ensuring consistency of processes and promulgation of best practice across all International Regions. Prior to this, Ingrid worked at the Institute of Directors where she spent 11 years in the Policy Unit working in an operations management role and leading Policy Voice, the IoD’s 2,000 strong insight community.
Ingrid read French and Spanish at King’s College London as an undergraduate, and Latin American Cultural Studies at the University of Manchester as a postgraduate. Upon graduation Ingrid spent four years in the City working in investment banking followed by a stint with a jewellery designer where she project managed trunk shows in the United States.
