We are delighted to announce that the Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS) will be partnering with memcom over the next three years as our highly esteemed memcom membership excellence awards Headline Partner.
FSCS is the UK’s compensation scheme for financial services, helping people get back on track by protecting them when authorised financial services firms fail. The FSCS played an integral role in the 2018 memcom event as one of our valued Partners and we look forward to building on this relationship over the coming years.
memcom’s unique position as the leading event for the professional body, charity and association sector will help support the delivery of FSCS’s strategy for the 2020s – Protecting the Future – launched this week. The success of this strategy depends upon the calibre of their people and the right blend of skills, qualifications, competencies, experience, knowledge and attitude. The partnership will help to raise the profile of the FSCS, its work and its brand as an employer of choice to an audience which collectively represents over 6 million professionals in the UK.
“The annual memcom conference and awards is unique. It attracts the brightest and the best so it’s a great opportunity for the Financial Services Compensation Scheme to raise our profile; make connections with professional bodies; learn from best practice and attract talent. We’re proud to be associated with an event that celebrates the amazing contribution of membership organisations and the wider non-profit sector.” David Blackburn, Chief People Officer, Financial Services Compensation Scheme
“We are absolutely delighted to have FSCS on board as a 2019 memcom partner. Owing to the seniority of audience, popularity of the awards, and plans for widespread coverage, we believe memcom will be a perfect vehicle for raising the profile of the FSCS, both in terms of its work but also in enhancing its branding as an employer of choice. We believe that promoting the FSCS during the conference as well as partnering with memcom as headline awards partner will bring FSCS the exposure, the branding and the opportunities to fulfil the new strategic objectives of the FSCS from an employer branding perspective. We very much look forward to working with David Blackburn and the wider team at FSCS over the next three years.” Debbie Hockham, Executive Director, memcom
Taking place on 20th June 2019, the memcom conference and awards event will be celebrating its 20th birthday. The conference audience of 500+ delegates is planned with significant input from senior leaders in the professional body and association sectors. Themes running throughout the conference will include strategic planning, recruitment, finance, governance, Brexit, digital disruption, influence, communications, content and data and will be delivered through a series of traditional presentations, panel discussions, round tables and TED-style talks as well as the annual “State of the Sector” address.
During the evening, the memcom excellence awards dinner will take place in partnership with the FSCS. Attended by 350 sector leaders, around 30 awards will be presented, celebrating the sector’s best talent, initiative and achievement. The awards are a must-attend event in the sector, and will be compered by a celebrity, thanks to the support of our charity partner, BBC Media Action.
